MEET SAM
Sam is the smiling face that will greet you when you enter the door at Isle at Ease. Her journey from feeling lost artistically to opening the store was a labor of love, as she rediscovered her passion for creating, after being confined to the limitations of sales and design for years.Â
Fueled by a lifelong love for art and design, Sam prioritized her desire to create over a steady paycheck. Rediscovering her creativity through woodworking projects, she found solace and connection in the maker community.
Inspired by artisans and ethical values, Sam curated Isle at Ease—a sanctuary where every object tells a story of intention and integrity. Here, you'll find a collection of products sourced from small makers, reflecting Sam's commitment to quality and sustainability.
Isle at Ease isn't just a shop—it's a celebration of mindful living and the beauty of everyday objects. Join Sam on this journey, and let Isle at Ease be your guide to a world where creativity flourishes and stories unfold with every discovery.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We acknowledge that Isle at Ease operates on the land known as Mi'kma'ki, the traditional and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people. This territory is governed by the "Treaties of Peace and Friendship," which were first signed with the British Crown in 1725. These treaties, importantly, did not transfer the rights to the land and resources but recognized Mi'kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) titles, setting the foundation for an ongoing inter-nation relationship.
At Isle at Ease, we believe that connection is the essence of community. We are committed to respecting and reinforcing these treaties, recognizing our role as Treaty people. We pledge to actively participate in the process of reconciliation, ensuring our practices honor and reflect the spirit of these agreements.
By weaving the principles of these treaties into the fabric of our connections—whether with our artisans, customers, or the wider community—we aim to foster a space that is not only inclusive but also actively engaged in mending and honoring the relationships with the original custodians of this land.
Join us in our commitment to building meaningful relationships that acknowledge our past, engage with our present, and hope for a respectful, shared future. Learn about whose land you live on.
